Senior Statutory Accountant - Cork - Hybrid
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified accounting professional to join a high-performing international finance team. This role will play a key part in ensuring the delivery of accurate statutory reporting, regulatory compliance, tax reporting, and financial control activities across a portfolio of international legal entities.
The successful candidate will work closely with finance, tax, audit, and operational stakeholders, supporting both local and group reporting requirements while driving process improvements and maintaining a strong control environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures in accordance with local accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Manage the reconciliation of local statutory accounts to group reporting standards, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial information.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal review, account reconciliations, balance sheet integrity, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and review corporate tax calculations, tax provisions, and support local tax compliance obligations.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits, statutory filings, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting standards.
- Perform detailed P&L and balance sheet reviews, identifying and resolving accounting issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packs, including commentary and analysis of financial results.
- Support internal and external audit activities and contribute to maintaining a strong compliance framework.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Tax, FP&A, Payroll, Treasury, and Shared Services to support financial reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiencies, and strengthen financial controls.
- Participate in finance transformation initiatives, systems enhancements, and other ad hoc projects as required.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 3+ post-qualified experience within statutory reporting, financial accounting, audit, or controllership functions.
- Strong understanding of statutory reporting requirements and financial statement preparation.
- Experience working in a multinational, shared services, or professional services environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, or local GAAP reporting frameworks.
- Experience working with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial results.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
