Senior Statutory Accountant - Multinational Pharmaceutical Company (Cork)
A leading global organisation is seeking a Senior Statutory Accountant. This position is part of a global finance function that provides value-driven financial services and supports strategic business objectives through operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and review of statutory financial statements for multiple legal entities across several jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and other statutory requirements. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements across multiple entities in line with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth completion of interim and year-end processes.
- Monitor accounting standard updates and implement best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to developing key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Review VAT and Intrastat calculations and ensure compliance with local reporting obligations.
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders across finance, tax, and compliance teams.
Skills and Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) with proven experience in statutory reporting within a multinational environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with IFRS and local GAAPs.
- Experience managing financial statements for multiple entities.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and statutory reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
