An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical client on-site in Cork. This role is a key position within the CAPEX Projects Team and will focus on delivering critical equipment upgrades and investments within tablet manufacturing operations, including Tablet Press, Compression, and Coating systems. Significant project experience is required for this application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage capital projects from initial concept through to completion, covering all stages of the project life cycle.
- Collaborate with end-users to conduct front-end studies, identify optimal technical solutions, and develop comprehensive business cases, budgets, and schedules to support CAPEX funding approvals.
- Oversee the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and qualification activities for assigned projects.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams across departments.
- Ensure effective project scheduling and cost management with regular updates and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Proactively manage and document all project changes, ensuring proper assessment and implementation.
- Drive a strong culture of safety and compliance throughout all project phases.
- Execute project validation in accordance with GMP and regulatory standards.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree-qualified in Engineering or a relevant scientific discipline.
- A minimum of 8-10 years' experience managing and executing capital projects within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Demonstrated experience working in client-side project delivery roles, ideally within GMP manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with electronic change management systems and the full end-to-end project lifecycle.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong knowledge of EHS standards and cGMP requirements within the pharmaceutical industry.
- In-depth understanding of project management principles, including programming, scope and design development, implementation, and project close-out.
