I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of industrial asset management and maintenance software solutions. Operating across Ireland, the UK, and international markets, my client is expanding their team and looking for a proactive Sales Development Representative (SDR) to drive their early-stage sales pipeline.
In this role, you will act as the engine of the sales process. You will focus on researching high-potential B2B accounts, mapping key stakeholders, and initiating structured outreach to qualify opportunities before seamlessly handing them over to the Business Development team.
Key Responsibilities
- Research industrial organisations across key sectors like manufacturing, life sciences, food production, utilities, and infrastructure to build structured target lists.
- Map out organisational structures to identify and engage key decision-makers, including engineering, maintenance, reliability, and operational leaders.
- Conduct multi-channel outreach campaigns via email, phone, and professional social networks to introduce solutions and uncover operational challenges.
- Run exploratory conversations to understand a prospect's current systems and pain points, qualifying opportunities using structured sales frameworks.
- Successfully schedule high-quality discovery meetings and product demonstrations for Business Development Managers.
- Maintain precise records of all outreach and prospect intelligence within the CRM, working hand-in-hand with marketing to follow up on inbound campaigns.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- A strong, genuine interest in sales development, market research, or business development is essential. Prior experience in a sales development, lead generation, customer engagement, or commercial support role is highly valued, as is any background in B2B tech or software sales environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to engage professionally with senior, technical, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong organisational capabilities with an aptitude for data, account mapping, and managing structured multi-channel outreach campaigns.
- Comfort using CRM systems to track activity and a desire or ability to leverage modern sales intelligence platforms and digital prospecting tools.
- A collaborative team player who works seamlessly alongside marketing and sales leadership, possessing strong attention to detail when managing prospect information.
- A natural curiosity about industrial sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, and infrastructure. A degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline is a plus.
