Our Cork-based client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Officer to join their Finance Department. This is a permanent, full-time position responsible for the effective delivery of an accurate and efficient fortnightly payroll. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a high-volume environment and maintains a "can-do" approach to meeting strict deadlines.
Salary: €50,000 - €62,485 (DOE).
Probation: 5 days per week on-site in Cork.
Post-Probation: Hybrid model (4 days on-site / 1 day remote).
Hours: 70 hours per fortnight.
Full Cycle Payroll: Manage the end-to-end preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll in accordance with National Financial Regulations and statutory requirements.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Revenue, Department of Social Protection, and Payment of Wages Act, including payroll modernisation obligations.
Data Management: Maintain payroll tables (salary scales, PRSI rates) and manage staff records, including new hires, terminations, and pensioners.
Statutory Payments: Monitor and integrate illness benefit, maternity leave, and paternity leave payments with the payroll system.
Reporting: Prepare and issue fortnightly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports and KPIs.
Audit Support: Support internal and external payroll audits and implement recommendations in a timely manner.
Queries & Advice: Serve as the primary point of contact for staff payroll queries, providing clear advice on tax credit certificates and DSP claims.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of professional experience processing high-volume payroll.
Education: Level 6 qualification (or higher) in Payroll, Accountancy, or Business.
Professional Certification: IPASS Certificate in Payroll Techniques or IPASS Professional Payroll Manager
Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in payroll processing software.
Analytical Skills: Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
Communication: Fluent in English with strong interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues at all levels.
Driving Licence: A full clean "B" class Irish Driving Licence is desirable.
Health: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical examination.
Tenure: This is a permanent, full-time post.
