About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading M&E consultancy in Limerick. This role offers the opportunity to lead building services design across a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, healthcare, education, and retail developments.

You will take ownership of full design delivery from concept through detailed design, while mentoring junior engineers and working closely with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical or electrical design on multiple projects.

• Deliver high-quality designs through all stages of the project lifecycle.

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

• Coordinate with architects, project managers, and other design disciplines.

• Manage quality control, project performance, and design outputs.

• Attend client meetings, site visits, and design reviews as required.

• Maintain high professional and engineering standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.

• Minimum 6 years' experience in building services consultancy design.

• Proven experience delivering designs through the full design cycle.

• Strong technical knowledge within mechanical or electrical building services systems.

• Experience with industry-standard design software (e.g. Amtech, Dialux/Relux or equivalent).

• BIM experience advantageous.

• Chartership or working toward chartership desirable.

• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

• Commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects.
