Our client is looking to bring on an experienced LIMS lead. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years working with LIMS or a similar system. The role is Cork based, hybrid working, and offers great benefits Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operational efficiency of LIMS applications, including leading, coaching, and performance management of team members.
- Develop in-depth expertise in supported business processes, collaborating with users to enhance workflows.
- Contribute to the design, architecture, implementation, and testing of both ongoing operations and new projects.
- Participate in IT project teams and engage with design, delivery, and change management functions.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including contractors and managed service providers, ensuring optimal service delivery.
- Manage software lifecycle, including version upgrades, patching, and maintaining application health.
- Prepare and execute business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Author and review documentation such as process maps, functional requirements, and recovery procedures.
- Support procurement activities, including drafting contracts, managing purchase orders, and running tenders.
- Address and resolve incidents affecting business-critical applications, adhering to internal IT standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technical developments to maintain expertise.
- Provide out-of-hours support as part of the team rota and manage coverage across the team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, end users, and project teams.
- Promote and uphold health and safety standards across the organization and supply chain.
- Support organizational transformation programs and contribute to strategic objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- At least 5 years of technical and functional expertise in LIMS, environmental management, or similar systems.
- Proven experience in software delivery across the full lifecycle, from analysis to post-implementation support.
- Background in application support for large-scale systems, ideally within utilities or comparable sectors.
- Relevant qualifications or professional certifications are advantageous.
- Familiarity with water, utilities, or related industries is beneficial.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues proactively and efficiently.
- Highly motivated with a track record of delivering high-quality results in team environments.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying and implementing solutions.
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and business needs.
