Financial Accountant
Group Finance Function - Cork City
A growing group finance function based in Cork City is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their team. This role is based in Cork City and offers a hybrid working model with 3 days onsite. Preference will be given to candidates who are immediately available, however, there is flexibility for the right candidate.
This role will suit candidates who are newly qualified or recently qualified accountants and presents an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in month-end reporting within a collaborative environment.
Reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for all reporting requirements for a number of entities within the group.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the month-end close process for the designated entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
- Liaise with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
- Support the Group Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
Requirements:
- Newly qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or 1-3 years post qualified experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting software packages is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
