Our esteemed client is seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant for a fixed term period of 12 months. This is a crucial role supporting the Group Head of Finance and the wider Finance Department in shaping the future growth of the Group within their Cork office.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a central role in managing the French entities and contributing to group-wide financial excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial Management: Ensuring the timely and accurate close of monthly management accounts and preparing month-end reporting packs for consolidation.
- Reporting & Compliance: Taking responsibility for all financial reporting aspects, including balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts. Working with Group Treasury and the project financing team to ensure all reporting under financing agreements is met.
- Procedure Development: Preparing and developing best-in-class accounting procedures and liaising with regional accountants in Cork to roll out accounting procedures used in other regions.
- Budgetary Analysis: Conducting a monthly budget versus actual review for the region to ensure appropriate results are recorded.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as the regional representative for dealings with auditors, lawyers, advisors, and business development partners.
- Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing key areas for improvement in the Group's processes and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Practice trained with 1 year plus industry experience preferred.
- Candidate will be driven, adaptable, and internationally-minded individual
- Experience of Netsuite is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is essential (both written and oral).
- Fluency in French (written and oral) is a significant advantage due to the focus on French entities.
- Very good command of MS Office, with proven strong Excel and Word skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workload and multitask.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a strong team.
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
