Role Title: Finance Manager - Costing & Process Innovation
Location: Cork, Ireland (Hybrid | Public Multinational)
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Are you a forward-thinking finance professional looking to take full ownership of a high-visibility, SOX-relevant accounting function within an expanding US-listed public company?
We are seeking an ambitious, innovative Finance Manager to lead our Cork-based costing function. This is not just a standard reporting role-it is a growth opportunity for a tech-minded finance leader ready to challenge traditional close cycles, rethink legacy workflows, and drive automation, process simplification, and data analytics across global operations.
We are actively restructuring our finance function around AI-enabled process simplification, automation, and digital optimization. You will act as the primary catalyst for modernizing how we manage period cost reporting, standard costing, and inventory valuation:
Process Automation & Digitization: Identify, design, and deploy process improvements using automation tools, RPA, AI-assisted compliance/reporting applications, or data analytics to eliminate manual spreadsheet reliance and reduce close timelines.
Cross-Functional Influence: Work at the intersection of Finance and Operations to provide actionable insights into PPV, inventory reserves, and cost variance components.
Scalable Infrastructure: Drive continuous improvement across systems and internal controls (SOX), turning complex cost data into structured, automated executive reporting.
Own the end-to-end standard costing framework, quarterly cost uploads, SKU administration, and overhead rate reviews.
Lead the quarterly calculation and reporting of inventory reserves (Excess & Obsolete, Lower of Cost or Market, Used Inventory, and ODM Excess Materials Liabilities).
Manage monthly/quarterly Cost Trial Balance and Standard Margin reconciliations, post-close allocations, and close-cycle journal entries.
Drive continuous process improvements, replacing manual Excel-heavy workflows with automated data pipelines and streamlined systems.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors (Deloitte) on cost accounting and inventory controls.
Present period cost actuals, forecasts, and margin reviews directly to senior executive management.
Recognized Qualification: Qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting designation.
Hands-on Accounting Base: Demonstrated ownership of close cycles, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial control environments (US GAAP / SOX exposure preferred).
Innovation & Tech-Forward Mindset: Proven track record of taking initiative to streamline, automate, or digitize accounting workflows (e.g., ERP implementations, RPA, Power BI, advanced Excel, or AI-assisted tools).
Growth Readiness: High-potential professional looking to step into full operational ownership as a natural career advancement.
Global Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the flexibility to overlap with US time zones during close periods.
High-Visibility Ownership: Directly influence cost accuracy, operational scalability, and digital transformation in a public company environment.
Career Growth: Designed as a step-up role with direct mentorship from senior finance leadership.
Modern Culture: Join an inclusive team expanding its presence in Cork with a focus on work-life balance and continuous learning.
