About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Facade Manager to oversee the complete external envelope package on a major flagship high-rise residential development in Cork City Centre. Working directly with a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, you will be responsible for leading specialists, ensuring strict quality compliance, and delivering complex glazing, cladding, and weatherproofing systems on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Package Management: Lead external envelope packages, including unitised curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, SFS, and architectural glazing systems.
- Subcontractor Management: Drive specialist facade subcontractors to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and production schedule.
- Quality & BCAR Compliance: Oversee quality assurance, air permeability testing, thermal performance checks, and ensure full alignment with Irish Building Regulations and BCAR requirements.
- Interface Coordination: Work closely with structural, M&E, and fit-out teams to manage interface details and ensure watertightness milestones are hit.
- Problem Solving: Resolve technical site queries (RFIs) alongside design teams, facade consultants, and structural engineers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in facade package management or specialist external envelope management on large-scale commercial or high-rise residential developments.
- Strong technical background in curtain walling, unitised systems, cladding systems, and waterproofing details.
- Solid understanding of BCAR, fire safety standards for external envelopes, and Irish/UK building codes.
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a trade background with proven high-rise delivery experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and QA auditing skills.
