Database Developer / Data Modeler

Location: Cork (Onsite/Hybrid)
Contract: 6-Month (Extension & Permanent Potential)

Role Overview

On behalf of my client I'm seeking an experienced Database Developer to design, implement, and maintain mission-critical systems. The role focuses on relational database modeling, Postgres expertise, and performance optimization, supporting financial services operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement relational database schemas and stored procedures

• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity

• Develop transformation processes and implement business logic at the database level

• Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams for seamless integration

• Participate in code reviews, QA testing, and release processes

Requirements

• 5-7 years in database development and relational modeling

• Strong expertise in Postgres, SQL, and procedural languages (PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL)

• Proven experience with OLTP systems and database performance tuning

• Strong communication, analytical, and team collaboration skills

• Background in financial/banking systems preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
