Commercial Assistant - Cork
Morgan McKinley are delighted to be working with a growing international supply chain business operating in the agricultural sector who are seeking a Commercial Assistant to join their Cork-based team.
This newly created position is the result of continued growth and will support both Irish and UK operations. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will provide analytical and administrative support to the commercial function and offer occasional holiday cover for the Ireland-based customer service team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collate and maintain weekly and monthly commercial data from various sources; produce and distribute summary reports to the Commercial Team.
- Analyse commercial statistics against budget and prior-year data, highlighting key actions for Sales Managers.
- Support the Sales Team with administrative tasks including quotations, CRM management, sample dispatch, product specification handling, and customer quality documentation.
- Update and maintain cost databases to support accurate product pricing models.
- Assist in developing the CRM platform, managing web content, supporting trade publications, and coordinating with industry bodies.
- Work closely with the UK-based Finance Team to track Irish debtor performance and engage with clients as needed.
- Provide occasional cover for order processing including handling incoming orders, updating the internal system, and coordinating with suppliers, hauliers, and storage facilities.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail, numeracy, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Prior experience in order processing is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to reliability and timekeeping, as the role requires consistent office-based presence.
- Willingness to develop strong working relationships and contribute to the overall success of the team.
- A full, clean driving licence is required. Some occasional travel within Ireland and the UK may be involved.
