We are partnering with a market-leading enterprise organisation to appoint an experienced Cloud Platforms & Infrastructure Lead. In this pivotal role, you will guide a high-performing engineering and architecture team tasked with modernising and scaling mission-critical multi-cloud environments.
Acting as the strategic bridge between delivery programmes, enterprise security, and IT operations, you will oversee end-to-end infrastructure roadmaps, champion engineering best practices, and ensure seamless delivery across complex digital transformation initiatives.
Leadership & Team Management: Direct, mentor, and build capacity across a multidisciplinary group of cloud systems architects, platform engineers, and DevOps specialists.
Programme & Portfolio Delivery: Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of infrastructure initiatives across multiple concurrent business streams, from design through deployment and operational handover.
Planning & Governance: Establish project milestones, resource models, and capacity forecasts while proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks and project dependencies.
Engineering Standards & Automation: Advocate for modern engineering principles, standardising reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, automated pipelines, and cloud foundation patterns.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Defense, Support Operations, and executive stakeholders to ensure solutions satisfy regulatory, security, and operational criteria.
Vendor & Partner Management: Direct external engineering partners, system integrators, and technical contractors to deliver against committed service levels and delivery timelines.
8+ years of progressive experience within Cloud Platform Engineering, Systems Architecture, or Enterprise Infrastructure Delivery.
3+ years in a formal technical leadership or people management capacity, guiding engineering teams through complex delivery cycles.
Deep Cloud Expertise: Extensive background architecting and operating enterprise-scale environments in Microsoft Azure; exposure to secondary enterprise cloud ecosystems (such as OCI or AWS) is highly advantageous.
Automation & Modern Delivery: Hands-on exposure to Infrastructure as Code tooling (e.g., Terraform) alongside mature CI/CD implementation (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
Architecture & Governance Acumen: Solid foundation in cloud network topology, hybrid connectivity, Identity & Access Management (IAM), landing zones, and continuous monitoring.
Stakeholder & Delivery Management: Demonstrated ability to translate intricate technical concepts for executive leadership, combined with a track record of running parallel workstreams under structured delivery governance.
