Job Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an AI-First Software Engineer (Mobile) for a permanent, full-time position reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.
This role is for a forward-thinking engineer with 5+ years of experience who pairs deep mobile fundamentals with an AI-first development mindset. You will actively leverage modern AI assistants to accelerate delivery, automate repetitive tasks, and help consolidate our client's mobile application suite onto a single, modern Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) codebase.
Responsibilities

Mobile Modernization: Design, develop, and migrate enterprise-grade mobile applications onto a shared Kotlin Multiplatform codebase.

AI-Assisted Engineering: Integrate AI coding assistants into your daily workflow for rapid code generation, testing, and refactoring, while maintaining strong technical oversight.

System Integration: Connect mobile frontends with RESTful APIs, event-driven cloud services, and emerging AI/computer vision capabilities.

Architecture & Quality: Write clean, highly secure, and well-tested code using clean architecture principles and robust CI/CD pipelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, UX, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver highly reliable, offline-first mobile experiences.
Requirements
Core Tech Stack

Languages & Frameworks: Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), Kotlin (Coroutines, Flow, sealed types, null safety), Jetpack Compose, Swift, SwiftUI, Compose Multiplatform (CMP).

AI Tools: Daily experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).

Storage & Offline Architecture: Offline-first design, CRDT-based conflict resolution, SQLite, SQLDelight, SQLCipher.

Security & Auth: Mobile security best practices, OAuth, OIDC, Biometrics, Secure Enclave/Keystore, Microsoft Entra ID.

DevOps & CI/CD: Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, and automated testing frameworks.

Legacy/Migration Tech: .NET, C#, Xamarin, and .NET MAUI (for migration to KMP).

Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
Experience & Skills

5+ years of professional mobile software engineering experience with production-grade deployments on both the App Store and Google Play.

Strong understanding of mobile performance profiling, secure local storage, and battery-aware engineering.

Experience with hardware integrations (Barcode scanning, RFID, NFC, Bluetooth, or camera-based workflows) is highly beneficial.

Familiarity with enterprise device management (Intune MDM, AppConfig) and accessibility standards (WCAG AA).

A pragmatic, highly collaborative approach to problem-solving in an Agile environment.
