Buyer - Planner

We are currently working with our client in their search for a Buyer/Planner to join their operations team.

This role is responsible for driving efficiencies in raw material procurement while ensuring continuity of supply to support production and customer demand. The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, negotiate commercial agreements, monitor pricing trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities across direct materials spend.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and negotiate with existing and new suppliers

• Ensure raw material availability and proactively address supply risks

• Lead cost-saving initiatives and optimise direct material spend

• Support sourcing strategy development and supplier performance management

• Collaborate cross-functionally to align purchasing with production needs

• Monitor KPIs, budgets, and inventory levels

• Maintain compliance with purchasing policies and health & safety standards

About You

• Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment

• Strong sourcing and negotiation background

• Experience within a regulated industry (chemical, pharma or similar)

• ERP/MRP systems experience and strong Excel skills

• Analytical, commercially focused and highly organised

• Eligible to work in the EU
