Software Controls Engineer

Join our automation engineering team and play a key role in developing high-performance control systems for bespoke automated assembly machinery. You'll work across the full project lifecycle, from software design through to commissioning and validation of new equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop control system software for PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion and vision systems.
• Support machine build, debug, testing and commissioning.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical and controls engineers.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute technical insights.
• Create and maintain documentation for new and upgraded equipment.
• Deliver work to meet project timelines and performance targets.

About You

• Level 8 qualification in Automation, Robotics, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in automation/controls software development.
• Skilled in PLC, HMI, robotics, vision systems and motion control.
• Strong understanding of machine safety standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
