Engineering Technician - Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the operation of manufacturing processes and/or packaging line equipment.

• Maximise equipment performance, output, and reliability through preventive maintenance and breakdown support.

• Follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) during maintenance work.

• Keep workshops and engineering storage areas organised and tidy, ensuring proper storage of tools and spare parts.

• Communicate relevant information to engineering management and cross-functional teams, including reporting issues, potential risks, and estimated repair times for breakdowns.

• Perform scheduled servicing and maintenance of plant equipment.

• Carry out electrical servicing and mechanical installation tasks.

• Support site continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency projects.

Skills & Experience

• Senior Trade Qualification or National Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline).

• Approximately 3+ years of post-qualification experience preferred.

• Hands-on experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of high-speed filling, manufacturing, or packaging equipment is advantageous.

• Experience within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment is beneficial.

• Willingness to work rotating shift schedules.
