The Head of Safety, Nature & Performance will ensure the highest Health & Safety, Nature & Performance standards for the operation of facilities and the protection of colleagues and stakeholders, and site assets.
The successful candidate will also strengthen the business by delivering and manifesting a 'safety first' culture and mind-set to all colleagues.
They will strive for continuous improvement while ensuring all goals and targets are met within Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation & Environment parameters.
Key Accountabilities, Deliverables, KPIs and impact on business results
Behavioural Safety: Drive the development of a strong safety first culture inclusive of all colleagues and contractors.
Project Design & Delivery (Construction Works & Internal Factory): Lead and Manage the delivery of key Health, Safety, Security, Nature & Performance projects ensuring to develop relevant requirements for project implementation.
EHS Management System: Achieve Key Deliverables as per the site Health and Safety Roadmap, Security Roadmap (in accordance with Nature Roadmap (in accordance with Green Audit, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, Carbon Neutral, Zero Waste, etc.) and the company Performance Roadmap.
Regulatory and Corporate Compliance: Ensure the site is in full compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines. Active participation in Corporate H&S, Security, Nature & Performance Network and cascading of information.
Monitor and Calculate Safety, Security, Nature & Performance Output: Monitor & calculate production operations performance and adherence to safety/security/nature/performance guidelines/policies as established by the organisation. Track quantitative and qualitative measures of the performance.
Incident Investigation and Close out: In conjunction with Front Line Management Coach/Guide/Advise in Accident/Incident Investigations and ensure preventative measures are put in place.
Carry out EHS Risk Assessments and audits: Conduct risk assessment on all processes and tasks and highlight areas of risk. Prepare mitigation plans to address risks raised, which could include process modification, changing SOP's, JSAs, training etc.
Build Sustainability through people: Exhibit passion for creating a sustainable and autonomous Safety, Nature & Performance Culture through people growth. Engage and align all team members to achieve individual roles, function and optimal company performance:
Facilitate Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing Practical Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis and perform GAP analysis on manufacturing data to understand where to focus/prioritise problem solving efforts. Design process changes where relevant and implement same.
Project Design & Delivery: As part of a wider project team assist and manage the delivery of key projects that have an impact on the site objectives.
