15-Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

An established and well-known entertainment organisation in Dublin City Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on a 15-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and wants exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities beyond traditional Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance team, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day accounting function while gaining valuable experience across revenue accounting, month-end processes, reconciliations, reporting, forecasting, and general finance operations.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, shows initiative, and enjoys being part of a busy team. The successful candidate will be naturally curious, confident in asking questions, and eager to take on new responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Reconciliations
- Review, reconcile and post daily revenue transactions.
- Monitor daily income reporting and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with operational teams.
- Support non-finance stakeholders with accounting-related queries.
Administration
- Prepare calculations relating to various revenue streams and associated fees.
- Maintain supporting documentation and schedules.
- Raise monthly invoices and assist with accrued income reconciliations.
Month-End Activities
- Prepare monthly accrual schedules and associated journal entries.
- Monitor invoicing activity and clear monthly accrual balances.
- Assist with month-end close activities and ensure accurate financial records.
Reporting
- Post and maintain general ledger journals.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyse actual performance against forecasted revenues and costs.
- Assist with weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
- Support budget preparation and forecasting processes.
About You
We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar role.
- Exposure to journals, accruals, reconciliations and month-end accounting processes.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
- Confidence communicating with colleagues across different departments.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Accounting Technician qualification or studies towards a professional accounting qualification would be advantageous.

Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working model.
- During probation: 3 days per week onsite.
- Following probation: alternating hybrid pattern of 2 days onsite / 3 days onsite.
- Dublin City Centre location.
- 39-hour working week.
- Flexitime available, with start times between 8:00am and 10:30am and corresponding flexible finish times.
