Senior Fund Accountant

Our global client is seeking experienced Senior Fund Accountants / Fund Accounting SMEs to support a 6-9 month data migration and conversion programme within their Alternatives business.

The successful candidates will bring strong technical fund accounting experience, ideally gained within Private Markets / Alternatives, together with hands-on expertise in Geneva Credit and/or Investran. The role will involve supporting the migration and conversion of fund accounting data, validating outputs, resolving data and reconciliation issues, and providing subject matter expertise throughout the project.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fund accountant to work on a large-scale transformation programme within a global financial services environment, with exposure to complex alternative investment structures and fund administration processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide fund accounting subject matter expertise across a large-scale data migration and conversion programme within the Alternatives business.
• Support the migration, conversion and validation of fund accounting data between systems, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
• Leverage strong knowledge of Geneva Credit and/or Investran to support system conversion activities and resolve technical or operational issues.
• Review and validate migrated data, NAV outputs, accounting records, transactions and associated fund information.
• Perform detailed reconciliations and break analysis between source and target systems, identifying discrepancies and supporting resolution.
• Support the migration of complex Private Markets / Alternatives fund structures, transactions and accounting data.
• Assist with the production and review of NAV calculations and associated fund accounting processes where required.
• Analyse existing fund accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve controls, efficiency and data quality.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, reconciliation templates, migration materials and other project documentation.
• Work closely with technology, operations, fund accounting and project teams to ensure successful delivery of migration activities.
• Act as a fund accounting SME, providing technical guidance and challenging data or process issues throughout the conversion programme.
• Support and mentor junior team members where required.

Key Requirements

• Strong technical background in fund accounting and fund administration within the financial services or asset management industry.
• Hands-on experience with Geneva Credit and/or Investran is highly desirable.
• Strong experience in Private Markets, Alternatives or alternative fund administration.
• Proven experience supporting data migration, system implementation, system conversion or transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end NAV calculations, including the underlying components and accounting processes.
• Experience with complex fund structures and investment products, particularly within the Alternatives / Private Markets space.
• Strong reconciliation, investigation and break-resolution experience.
• Ability to analyse large volumes of data and identify discrepancies or data quality issues.
• Strong understanding of fund accounting systems and the wider technology landscape.
• Ability to work effectively with technology, operations, accounting and project stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work to tight project deadlines.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different operating environments and understand complex fund accounting processes.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A relevant professional accounting qualification or equivalent experience is advantageous.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

• 3-7+ years' experience in fund accounting, ideally within Alternatives, Private Markets, a tier-one fund administrator, asset manager or consulting environment.
• Demonstrable experience working with Geneva Credit and/or Investran.
• Strong technical understanding of fund accounting and fund administration processes.
• Previous involvement in large-scale system migration, conversion or implementation projects.
• Experience working with multinational financial services organisations and large project teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy and quality.
• Confident working independently and taking ownership of technical issues.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Strong client-service mindset and the confidence to act as a subject matter expert.
