Job Description

Leading Investment Services client looking for a strategic & highly motivated Legal Counsel to join their Dublin Office. 1-3 year's PQE required & relevant asset management experience.

Legal Counsel - Funds

In this role, you will have responsibility primarily for the provision of legal support with respect to firm's activities in the Irish and European market with respect to external clients and third party managers.

Advice

  • Provide practical, business-oriented advice on the firms engagements with institutional clients and third party asset managers.
  • Manage key internal stakeholders such as Sales, Business Development, Client Services, Strategy, Investment Consulting, Fund Design.
  • Work closely with their external legal counsel and third party legal counsel in relation to the above, where appropriate, to include negotiation and management of costs of outside counsel.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented advice on their new service offerings, regulation impacting their products, applicable governance requirements, service passporting and on emerging issues.

Documentation

  • Co-ordinate, draft and negotiate commercial contracts with their clients, to include amendments to such, and a variety of other associated legal agreements.
  • Co-ordinate, draft and negotiate investment management agreements with third party asset managers, to include amendments to such, fee agreements and a variety of other associated legal agreements.

General

  • Know the company, its organizational and management structure, its markets and its businesses and keep abreast of global goals.
  • Provide support on governance arrangements surrounding their regulated entities.
  • Escalate key issues for decision or information using appropriate judgment as to when to do so.
  • Suggest, support, promote and implement initiatives as part of the Legal team.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the wider Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs Function.
  • Take on and where necessary lead projects important to the department or the internal client and manage these effectively and to completion.
