Senior Compliance Officer - Conduct Risk

The Role

Well known financial institution seeking a senior compliance officer, specialising in conduct risk.

This role is responsible for establishing internal strategies, policies, procedures and processes and design and deliver a risk management framework that maintains risk levels within the firm's risk appetite and protects the business.

Duties:

  • Participating in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of Compliance programs, policies and practices
  • Support the implementation of the Conduct Risk Management Program
  • Identify gaps in existing controls/activities supporting conduct and associated emerging risks and assist in developing plans
  • Analyzing complex data, preparing and presenting reports related to compliance risk assessments, and monitoring of compliance related issues.
  • Support the development of a consistent conduct risk reporting
  • Perform data quality and check/challenge of conduct risk-related data from multiple firm sources
  • Reviewing documents to ensure compliance with various regulatory and legal requirements and to ensure compliance risks are appropriately identified and addressed
  • Investigating and responding to compliance risk issues. Investigating regulatory inquiries, preparing required documentation, making recommendations to senior management on how to proceed, and preparing responses for the regulatory inquiries.
  • Engage with key business stakeholders in their implementation of the Conduct Risk Program throughout business activities.
  • Keeping ahead of regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes in order to further identify new key risk areas.

Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge in Conduct Risk
  • Strong experience and exposure to compliance laws, rules, regulations and risk
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and advanced analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate with team members
  • Bachelor's degree and any professional exams a plus
