Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts for administrative expenditure, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Assist with quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders and external funding bodies.
- Review and approve purchase and sales invoices, ensuring correct cost centre and coding.
- Support the Accounts Payable function by verifying and posting supplier invoices, employee expenses, and credit card transactions.
- Conduct monthly transaction reviews and process accruals, prepayments, and journals.
- Maintain and update annual budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare monthly reports for budget holders and assist in budget vs. actual reviews.
- Engage in financial reporting for internal audit, statutory audit, and regulatory compliance.
- Support continuous process improvement and contribute to the development of finance policies and procedures.
What You'll Need
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or at least 3 years of experience in a strong finance role.
- Experience preparing monthly management accounts and variance analysis with clear, actionable commentary.
- Strong core accounting skills, including preparing P&L and balance sheets from trial balance.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards of accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of other MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a finance team.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and follow established financial procedures.
- High degree of integrity, reliability, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
