Looking for a QA Manager who can take ownership of the QA Enterprise function and direct and supervise the team while driving automation

Job Title: QA Manager
Job Summary:

  • Take ownership of the QA Enterprise function and direct and supervise the team.
  • Ultimate responsibility for assuring all product releases are fit for purpose and compliant with functional and technical specifications.
  • Owner of the automation strategy and execution
  • Must have an innovative approach - a bold thinker and doer who can be creative, vigilance and lead the team from the front

Reports to: Head of Software Engineering
Subordinate Titles: QA engineer

Primary Responsibilities
* Develop test strategies
* Direct and supervise the team, provide mentoring and performance reviews
* Ensure project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale, and resource budgets
* Responsible for overall test plan design and processes.
* Responsible for implementing automation test coverage. Progress and execute the automated test coverage of code.
* Work with Product Manager and Head of Software Engineering to develop project schedules and resource allocation
* Consult with key business stakeholders.
* Diagnose problems and underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions.
* Enforce QA standards, code/script quality and best practices
* Be domain expert in all functional areas of the Enterprise
* Support, maintain and document QA processes
* Provide recommendations to the Head of Software Engineering and management concerning issues of QA productivity and QA management
* Maintain product consistency throughout the product lifecycle, to include the design, define and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing.
* Take ownership of issues and processes to resolve.
* Liaison with Product Manager and individual software development Managers to ensure delivery of a high-quality product is compatible with release timeline targets. Responsible and accountable of flagging the timing of interdepartmental deliverables and the quality of their output.
* Review historical, existing, and ongoing bug reports to identify areas needing specific attention.
* Focus on quality, excellent scripts and superior standards
* Anticipate product release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments
* Implement ongoing quality improvement processes and assure the viability, functionality and effectiveness of essential QA tools.

* Strong analytical skills.

* Detail orientated with respect to documentation and communication.
* Strong understanding of different software development life cycles and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools.
* Strong application process flow and problem solving techniques.
* Excellent customer support skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage teams
* Able to write concise, accurate reports
* Ability to make appropriate and well considered decisions

Education and Experience
* Minimum of 8 years software quality experience to include at least 5 years at a lead or managerial role.
* Experience with implementing automation testing
* Experience with the Ranorex tool a plus.
* Experience with managing off site teams
* Experience of the implementation and administration of Software QA metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria
* Experience in developing, managing, and driving teams to deliver on company objectives
* ISTQB Advanced is advantageous
* Must be eligible to work in the European Union.
* Excellent English skills required
