Job Description:
As a Medical Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting the medical professionals and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and providing excellent customer service to the patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and schedule appointments.
- Management of the Consultant's diary and schedule.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing.
- Prepare and maintain medical documentation.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient care.
- Manage inventory and order office supplies as needed.
- Handle patient payments and assist with financial transactions.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the practice.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office or similar setting preferred.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office tools eg. MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
- Proficient in medical terminology and electronic health records is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of billing and insurance processes is a plus.
