My client is an international investor in private equity, infrastructure and real assets.

Job Description

This role is in the Product Control team, which is led by the Global Head of Operations and Product Control. The team has been established in 2020 to act as a key interface between the Global Operations team and the rest of the business.

Its mission is to provide support and solutions to the business to operationally on board complex clients and investment deals and ensure their sustainable integration into processes on an ongoing basis until their offboarding.

The Product Control team is involved at all stages of the product/strategy life cycle to ensure that delivers best practice operational service to those strategies.

The Team consists of Senior Product Controllers who have ownership of specific strategies, products and key clients and Product Controllers who support the Senior Product Controllers in their day to day functions.

It is anticipated that the Product Controller will:

Support specific products and clients namely Private Debt

Have a strong focus at operationally onboarding new clients/mandates

Support the Capital and Financial Management of the AIFs under management by PVID

There will be opportunities to gain exposure to the wider product/client platform through team wide initiatives and to build bench strength in the team.

Key Responsibilities

Apply quality oversight and controls on risk areas of the operational process workflow from the investor/fund set up to the client reporting delivery.

Ensure compliance with the internal Product Control policies through the product/client lifecycle

Oversee client deliverables, quarterly valuations and financial statements of non-standard structures

Serve as the primary interface between the Operations teams and the rest of the Business

During the product design/concept stage of the product/client lifecycle, support the Senior Product Controller to act as the key point of contact for the below workstreams:

Working with various teams across the business to understand the investment strategy, structure and legal requirements of the fund are understood and can be delivered from an operational perspective an operational capabilities to service underlying clients are clearly defined, and any complexities are communicated and costed adequately

Highlighting and communicating any complexities to the Global Operations Team and working with them to ensure adequate and sustainable service delivery.

During the fundraising and onboarding phase support the Senior Product Controller:

Co-ordinate with internal operational teams and external fund administrators to onboard new products and clients ensuring any new requirements or complexities are identified and covered from an internal control perspective.

Review fund legal documentation (LPAs, offering memorandums, Administrator contracts) and provide input from an operational perspective identifying new requirements and any non-standard aspects that require additional operational oversight.

During the investment and maturity phase support the Senior Product Controller:

Act as the key central contact for any operational issues identified in relation to your specific product throughout the product lifecycle co-ordinating with the various Operations and broader teams to ensure issues are correctly addressed and resolved by the appropriate team.

Gain an understanding of the current deal pipeline, future potential transactions and any operational considerations.

Provide an independent review and oversight of complex areas in respect of your product; including valuations and complex deals

Support the Senior Product Controller with the ongoing monitoring of the Capital and Financial Management of the Ireland Managed Funds.

Ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Ireland regulatory requirements, including the capital requirements of the Company and monitoring of the Minimum Capital Requirement.

Monitoring that all relevant accounting records are properly maintained, readily available, adequate for the purposes of financial control and management information, including the production of annual and semi-annual financial statements within the relevant timeframes.

Assist with the coordination of the annual audit of the Company

Ensure procedures for the valuation of the portfolio assets of each Fund are consistently and fairly applied and that a proper and independent valuation of the assets of each Fund can be performed

Monitor compliance by the Company with its Valuation Policy and the compliance by the Administrator with the prescribed accounting methodologies and policies set by the Company.

Assist with the preparation of materials for quarterly board reporting to both the Ireland and Luxembourg boards, including oversight of the budget and expense analysis

About you

Technical

Professional qualification desirable

Experience of change management programs is desirable, but not a prerequisite

Broad knowledge of private debt preferably funds of funds, and the processes involved in servicing these funds

Experience in an operations environment in private equity an advantage.

Experience in designing, monitoring and understanding the internal controls frameworks in place at each stage of a fund/product life cycle

The ability to lay out processes, controls & procedures in simple, clear formats including data flows, controls matrices, etc.

Ability to prioritise and manage own workload and that of others

Experience in initiating and steering process change and improvement projects

Excellent organisation and planning skills

Proficient Excel skills

Individual

Relationship building and an ability to influence others, both verbally and in writing

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to develop meaningful partnerships with both internal and external teams
