Job Description

Our client is a cutting-edge global technology development company that designs and delivers superconducting connection systems to connect renewable generation and increase grid interconnections.

The primary function of this role is to lead the offshore operations design, planning and associated activities for the superconducting cables and auxiliary equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all offshore operations related aspects of the system & product design;
  • Develop installation methodology for the cable and auxiliary offshore infrastructure;
  • Develop integrity management system for infrastructure and establish maintenance strategy and procedures;
  • Interface between the system design team and external analysis consultants, partners, offshore construction companies and third-party certification bodies;
  • Lead role in interpreting offshore standards and provide guidance to the design team to ensure requirements are incorporated in the system design;
  • Collaborate with design team to ensure all equipment is designed to be compatible for offshore installation;
  • Calculate load cases on the cable system through operations and life cycle.
  • Contribute to research and development projects.

Experience and Skills required

  • A degree in Mechanical/Structural/Offshore Engineering;
  • Experience of planning and executing marine operations in either pipelines, cables, offshore structures or marine renewables;
  • Extensive working knowledge of offshore standards;
  • Strong interpersonal, communications and relationship management skills;
  • Experience in planning and implementing Preventative & Corrective Maintenance programs.
  • Experience designing equipment for offshore operations and through life cycle.
  • Experience in pipeline design, analysis & risk assessment.
