Knowledge & Experience:
A postgraduate qualification in GIS and/or at least 3 years' experience in a similar role
Knowledge required of some or all of these systems; GE Smallworld ArcGIS, QGIS, FME, MapInfo
Knowledge of spatial datasets (e.g. OSI, GeoDirectory, Aerial Photography, Imagery) an advantage
Strong understanding of IT concepts. Knowledge of IT Web, Mobile and DB Infrastructure related to GIS systems. The ability to troubleshoot issues relating to these and demonstrate in depth knowledge of GIS application and data components.
Good knowledge of Utilities industry (specifically telecomms)
Complete understanding of GIS principles and concepts
Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others
Have excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using such knowledge and skill on the job
