Public Sector client with Hybrid working is looking for a Service Desk Administrator for a 12 month contract role. ITL qualification is a plus

Our Public Sector client is looking for a Service Desk Administrator for a 12 month contract role.

Our client has an immediate requirement for a professional who has worked in a technical service desk environment, the successful candidate will form part of a 10 person team in a busy and dynamic environment.

This Business Application Support - Service Desk Administrator will support the organization and its clients through the provision of technical support services to a variety of business applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Become point of contact to internal user and client queries via phone and email.
  • Be accountable for issues and requests, provide helpful friendly support, and advice to resolve business application issues
  • Troubleshoot, resolve and escalate requests as required.
  • Liaise with the internal IT department and external service providers as required.
  • Log and monitor all requests through the IT Helpdesk software.
  • Support the business needs to meet and exceed SLAs.
  • Monitor the escalation of incidents and problems. Communicate updates to affected parties in a timely fashion.
  • Notify where improvements in procedures and technologies are needed.
  • Contribute to processes and procedures improvement relating to the Operations department.
  • Manage user access and security requests in-line with procedures.
  • Business user and other stakeholder liaison.
  • Concise and timely status reporting.
  • Support and own new business change requests when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Communication - ensuring the business is kept up to speed with the service and resolution of all problems and incidents.
  • Problem Solving - ability to troubleshoot and use initiative to solve complex issues.
  • Teamwork - A strong team player is essential.
  • Third level related Qualification.
  • ITIL qualifications would be beneficial (Incident, Problem and Change management).
  • Project Management - Ability to contribute, test and support new application developments.
