Job Description

Installation (CQV) Engineer required on a permanent basis for a major pharmaceutical company in Cork. Package includes excellent base salary, healthcare, pension contribution and annual bonus.

The Installation Engineer Performs engineering and associated support activities in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. Designs and installs processes, instruments and equipment and tests manufacturing facilities to meet quality, safety and productivity standards. Plans, designs and estimates time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components. Analyses and develops solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, guidelines and legal requirements and provides advice on issues within the engineering and maintenance field.

Objectives:

  • Responsible for conducting qualification activities on site
  • To assure cGMP compliance before, during and after /qualification activities by assuring that all necessary procedures are implemented and are being followed on the site
  • To assure that process systems equipment, utilities and facilities are qualified according to their intended use and product requirements in accordance with company procedures and regulatory guidelines
  • To promote the importance of high quality standards and the importance of a continuous improvement culture in core company activities
  • To participate in the alignment and harmonization of the Qualification and procedures within all company sites
  • To plan and/or establish Qualification requirements for each project
  • To establish the required qualification activities of new or changed systems and/or facilities within the change control process

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and/or carry out the /DQ/IQ/OQ tasks, for all new or changed process/utilities systems in close liaison with the user area
  • To participate in the Quality Systems requirements activities related to job: Quality Systems tools, Quality Systems Management (DocStream, Change Control etc), Procedures and Policies, cGMPs training
  • Assure adequate training on site is provided to all departments in relation to qualification activities
  • To assure and promote compliance on Health, Safety and Environment in the area and activities for which the qualification engineer has responsibility for or in which the person participates in
  • To establish qualification/ related procedures and documents to be followed
  • To be prepared for and participate in audits and regulatory audits. To participate in all Deviations, CAPA's, Improvement Plans and Change Control activities related to Qualification of all Projects, Equipment, Facilities and Utilities

Education:

  • Level 8 University degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree in a scientific area
