Job Description

Based in Cork City, this is a brand new role with a leading US multinational in its field. This role has come about due to continued growth in the company with more expected in the near future

This is a brand-new position with a multinational company based in Cork City. The EMEA logistics manager will report into global Supply Chain Director directly and have a dotted line responsibility into the region. The regional logistics manager is a key role in the global logistics organisation and is the link between the centre-led global logistics function and the regional/in-country leadership team and their respective logistics execution function.

Duties of the role:

  • Implementation of global logistics strategies
  • Work with the local logistics teams to understand the need for local customization of globally agreed logistics operating standards
  • Regional support for partnerships with global 3PLs that can be used by the business to deliver outsourced services for warehousing, transport and international logistics.
  • Be the focal point for global trade compliance at a regional-management level
  • Accountable for inbound and outbound process controls and driving cost efficiencies with sites.
  • Ensure sites follow inventory/cycle count procedures.
  • Identify and promote to the global logistics groups local best practices developed and implemented regionally that maybe adopted across and add value to other parts of the global network.

Experience required:

  • Knowledge and experience of regional and international shipping and associated regulatory requirements (including safety, security, and import/export compliance law).
  • Supply chain degree is desirable.
  • Ten+ years' operational logistics experience in relevant industries OR Ten+ years' 3PL services provider or freight forwarding industry experience.
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English. Additional language skills a plus (French, Italian, German, etc).
  • Ability to travel (30%) sometimes at short notice and/or work overseas.
