The Client 

Our client is an Irish-owned and managed group of companies, a market leader in the manufacture and supply of plumbing and heating, bathroom, and hardware products with headquarters in Dublin and Lisburn.

The Assignment

To support the client’s ambitious growth plans to triple the revenue of the group by 2030, the executive leadership team was being expanded to further consolidate and streamline the business. As part of this process, Morgan McKinley Executive Search was tasked with identifying and securing a Group Marketing Director. This was an exciting new position, responsible for driving the marketing strategy across the group by orchestrating the strategic pillars: brand, product, and communication. The Group Marketing Director would be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting to the Group Managing Director, and would play a pivotal role in helping the group achieve its ambitious growth plans.

The Solution

Morgan McKinley Executive Search’s advised strategy was to target talent that came from a blue chip brand background—an individual who understood best brand practice but could also evidence the ability to apply the learnings of the marketing discipline’s best practices in an SME context. This is quite a finite talent pool. In addition, we wanted someone with a firm understanding of the industry as well as a portfolio brand background.

The Result

After an exhaustive search in the UK and Ireland, Morgan McKinley Executive Search secured an outstanding candidate located in Ireland. The candidate met the sweet spot of a large blue chip combined with SME experience. She also met the vital criterion of a good culture and ways of working that fit with the organisation.
