Group Accountant (Consolidation & Reporting)
About Our Client:
Our client is a highly established, global sourcing and supply chain group specializing in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and chemical sectors. With a robust international footprint spanning across Asia, Europe, and the US, their Hong Kong regional headquarters acts as the central hub for global operations. They are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Group Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in the group-level finance function. This position is heavily focused on multi-regional consolidation, requiring a high degree of accuracy and cross-border collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Take charge of month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing consolidated financial statements for multiple overseas subsidiaries (including the US, China, and Southeast Asia).
Perform complex intercompany reconciliations, managing elimination entries and extensive multi-currency transactions.
Ensure all regional reporting complies with Group HKFRS/IFRS standards, performing necessary adjustment entries for local subsidiaries (e.g., aligning US GAAP or PRC GAAP to IFRS).
Monitor inventory valuations and foreign exchange translation reserves across the group.
Work closely with regional finance teams and external auditors to ensure timely statutory audits and tax compliance.
Utilize ERP systems to streamline financial reporting and improve consolidation efficiency.
Assist the Finance Manager with ad-hoc financial analysis and management reporting.
Candidate Profile:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Fully Qualified or Finalist of a recognized professional accounting body (HKICPA, ACCA, CPAA, or equivalent).
Solid, hands-on experience in handling group consolidation and financial reporting for a multinational corporation.
Candidates with a blend of external audit experience (Big 4 or Tier-2) and commercial accounting background are highly preferred.
Prior exposure to the trading, supply chain, manufacturing, or healthcare/pharmaceutical industries is a distinct advantage.
Proficiency in utilizing robust ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Strong technical foundation in HKFRS/IFRS; practical experience dealing with cross-border operations is highly valued.
Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin to liaise with overseas counterparts.
