About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically adept Sourcing Engineer to drive the electronic component sourcing strategy. In this role, you will bridge the gap between R&D Engineering and Supply Chain. You will manage PRC vendors and dive deep into schematics and datasheets to optimize Bill of Materials (BOM) costs, qualify alternative components, and ensure the next-generation consumer electronics are built with the best cost-to-performance ratio.
BOM Management & Cost Optimization: Ownership of the electronic BOM from NPI (New Product Introduction) to mass production; actively identify and execute cost-down opportunities.
Alternative Sourcing & Risk Mitigation: Analyze circuit schematics and component datasheets to identify pin-to-pin or functionally equivalent second-sources (Active/Passive, Semiconductors, RF) to secure supply continuity.
Supplier Qualification & Management: Audit and qualify electronic component manufacturers and vendors. Manage performance, lead-time negotiations, and allocation risks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with R&D, Component Engineers, and EMS/ODM partners to align technical requirements with commercial sourcing strategies.
Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of market trends, lead times, and price fluctuations for key commodities (ICs, RF modules, passives) to inform procurement strategies.
Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret Schematics and Datasheets. Deep understanding of electronic components, including Active/Passive components, Semiconductors, and RF modules.
Sourcing Expertise: Proven track record in BOM cost reduction, Alternative Sourcing, and Supplier Qualification.
Industry Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry, with exposure to EMS/ODM manufacturing models.
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills. Fluent in English Mandarin and Cantonese
