Our client, an establish foreign corporate and investment bank, is looking for an experience Risk Manager to manage the operations risk in 1LOD for the regional Capital Markets and Trade Finance Operations function.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain independent control plans for Hong Kong and regional operations, ensuring controls cover key operational risks and remain effective amid changes to the business, operations, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Execute defined control testing, escalate anomalies to management, agree and document action plans, and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
- Investigate operational incidents and challenge remediation by analyzing incident causes, reviewing action plans proposed by operations teams, and tracking implementation effectiveness.
- Implement the operational risk management framework for Hong Kong, including setting and monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Pilot and oversee controls using permanent monitoring tools, and produce operational risk reporting/KPIs to monitor the risk environment across the perimeter.
- Ensure consistency across RCSA, control plans, and operational risk management (ORM) processes.
- Coordinate regional ORM matters with COO and relevant teams, ensuring alignment and effective governance across the region.
Requirements:
- Degree holder with at least 7 years of relevant experience in post-trade operations, risk management or control functions in Big 4 or banking industry.
- Good awareness in operational risk.
- Good knowledge of banking products, operations process and local regulations.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
