Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor the Financial Accounting team to achieve exceptional performance and maintain the integrity of the Bank's financial control functions.
- Supervise complete accounting processes to ensure the prompt and accurate preparation of financial records in accordance with IFRS, regulatory standards, and Group policies.
- Manage and prioritize operational workflows, defining a strategic roadmap to enhance departmental efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Review existing processes and inventories to identify and implement opportunities for standardization across the Group and the region.
- Provide analytical insights on key financial parameters to assist senior management in effective strategic decision-making.
- Act as the primary liaison for Internal and External Auditors; ensure audit readiness, facilitate documentation requests, and lead the resolution of audit findings.
- Oversee tax reporting and the preparation of tax-related documentation, managing relationships with external tax consultants and authorities to ensure full compliance.
- Offer technical accounting expertise to support Business and Group strategies, ensuring financial implications are fully integrated into planning.
- Develop, establish, and update policies, procedures, and guidance notes to govern the Branch's financial control activities.
- Partner with senior management, auditors, tax advisors, and various business units to provide financial guidance and implement rigorous internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant financial accounting experience within a financial institution.
- A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, tax regulations, and banking rules.
- Prior experience in audit (internal or external) is considered a distinct advantage.
