Morgan McKinley Northern Home Counties are proud to be representing a growing business in Northampton to recruit a Business Development Executive to join their expanding Sales & Marketing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded sales professional who enjoys building genuine, long-term relationships. Working within a specialist and purpose-driven sector, the role will involve managing customer relationships, developing new opportunities, visiting clients, and supporting the wider team with product demonstrations and commercial activity.
This is not a hard-sales environment. The business is looking for someone who can act as a credible and professional representative, build trust with customers, and develop relationships over the long term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and develop strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers
- Manage and develop allocated accounts across the UK
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Conduct client meetings and site visits where required
- Follow up on enquiries, quotations and leads in a timely and structured manner
- Work closely with the technical team to support product demonstrations
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
- Manage and maintain an active sales pipeline
- Ensure all customer activity and opportunities are accurately recorded within the CRM system
- Work closely with the Marketing Executive to convert marketing-generated leads
- Provide feedback on customer requirements, market activity and commercial opportunities
- Support wider sales, events and business development activity as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience within Sales, Business Development, Account Management or a similar commercial role
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Comfortable meeting customers and representing the business professionally
- A consultative and relationship-led approach to sales
- Ability to identify and develop new commercial opportunities
- Organised and proactive, with strong follow-up and pipeline management skills
- Comfortable working collaboratively with technical and internal teams
- Strong attention to detail and CRM discipline
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits
- Experience within assistive technology, education, healthcare or a similar sector would be advantageous, but is not essential
What's on Offer:
- Salary of £35,000-£42,000, depending on experience
