A mid-market Private Equity firm based in London is seeking an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join the finance team on a 6-month contract. This is an urgent cover role to support the team during a busy reporting period, with several team members seconded to other projects. The client will only consider those immediate or on short notice periods.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable taking ownership of core fund accounting responsibilities from day one.
Key Responsibilities

Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual fund accounts

NAV calculations and supporting schedules

Processing and review of capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations

Management and performance fee calculations

Oversight of investment activity accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and valuations

Support with year-end audits and liaising with external auditors

Assist with investor reporting and ad-hoc financial queries

Ensure compliance with fund documentation, accounting standards, and internal controls

Provide hands-on support to ensure reporting deadlines are met
Candidate Profile
Essential
-
Around 5 years' experience in Private Equity fund accounting

Strong technical understanding of PE fund structures and reporting

Proven experience producing NAVs and fund financial statements

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Able to step into a role quickly with minimal handover.
Desirable

Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)

Experience gained within a PE fund, fund services provider, or fund administrator

Strong Excel skills and familiarity with fund accounting systems
