A leading Top 5 accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Corporate & M&A Tax Associate Director to join its expanding Transactions Tax team in London. Working with private equity investors, large corporates and ambitious entrepreneurial businesses, you'll advise on complex acquisitions, disposals, restructures and international transactions across a wide range of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&A Tax professional looking to take on greater leadership responsibility, develop key client relationships and play an active role in the continued growth of a highly successful transaction tax practice.
The Opportunity
As an Associate Director, you'll lead the delivery of complex transaction tax engagements while acting as a trusted adviser to clients throughout the deal lifecycle. Working closely with Partners and specialists across VAT, Employment Tax, Transaction Services and wider advisory teams, you'll deliver commercially focused tax solutions that help clients complete transactions with confidence. Alongside client delivery, you'll play an important role in developing the practice through business development, mentoring colleagues and strengthening relationships with private equity houses and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead tax due diligence and transaction structuring assignments across buy-side and sell-side transactions.
- Advise clients on the tax implications of acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations and wider corporate transactions.
- Work collaboratively with specialists across Tax, Deals and Advisory to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Build trusted relationships with private equity investors, corporate clients and professional advisers throughout the transaction process.
- Review legal documentation and financial models, providing commercially focused tax input where required.
- Manage engagement delivery, including project planning, risk management and commercial performance.
- Support business development through networking, proposals, pitches and identifying opportunities within existing client relationships.
- Coach, mentor and develop junior members of the Transactions Tax team.
- Work closely with Partners to support the continued growth of the Corporate & M&A Tax practice.
About You
- ACA, CTA or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant experience advising on UK corporate transactions, tax due diligence and transaction structuring.
- Strong technical knowledge across M&A tax and corporate tax advisory.
- Experience managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, investors and advisers.
- A commercial mindset with a proven ability to identify opportunities and support business development.
- A collaborative leadership style with experience developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
