Senior Accounts Payable - temporary to permanent
£37,000 to £40,000 per annum
Morgan McKinley is partnering with a specialist joinery and trade contractor in the search for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable to join its finance team based in Southall. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will be responsible for managing a high volume accounts payable function, processing two hundred-three hundred invoices per week and supporting the wider finance operations within a fast-paced construction environment.
The successful candidate will have proven construction industry experience, including subcontractor invoicing, CIS administration, and the processing of payments for hired site staff. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
The position is office-based, five days per week, and offers the opportunity to play a key role within a growing business. No visa or sponsorship available for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring invoices are accurately processed and approved within agreed deadlines.
- Process a high volume of supplier and subcontractor invoices (two hundred - three hundred per week) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Administer and maintain CIS records, including verification of subcontractors and preparation of CIS payment and deduction information.
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs for suppliers, subcontractors, and hired site personnel.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies, queries, or outstanding items.
- Ensure all invoices and payments are correctly coded and allocated within the accounting system.
- Support month-end and year-end finance processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
- Support the wider finance function with accounts assistant duties, including bank reconciliations and general ledger postings where required.
About You
- Previous experience working within a Construction Contracting firm.
- Experience in administering and maintaining CIS records.
- Proficiency working in high volume and fast paced environments.
- Immediately available or available at short notice.
