Update your CV. Send it to a recruiter to look at. Get feedback. Update it again. Repeat at least two more times! The most important thing is to keep going and don’t take things personally – always strive to gain more skills and knowledge in your field and you will eventually be recognized.

My Background

Originally from the UK, I studied Japanese Language and Business Administration at Cardiff University. I moved to Japan in 2017 and achieved JLPT N1 in 2018. I spent 5 years working in Japanese language only environments in Yamanashi Prefecture as the only non-native Japanese employee, giving me a deep understanding of Japanese work practices and culture. I joined Morgan McKinley in November 2025 and look forward to using my knowledge of Japanese language/ work culture, and the connections and experience of my team to help you build the future you want.
