You will lead the resolution of critical incidents, improve platform reliability through automation, and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery across a large-scale ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end resolution of high-severity incidents and manage the complete critical incident lifecycle.
- Conduct advanced Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring order management and billing platform failures across logs, databases, and microservices.
- Design and implement scalable monitoring solutions to improve platform observability and operational efficiency.
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operational workloads and improve service reliability.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to L1 and L2 support engineers.
- Manage team backlogs, operational KPIs, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Act as the primary technical subject matter expert during architecture reviews and cross-functional discussions with engineering and product teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience, with strong expertise in microservices and distributed systems.
- 5+ years of experience supporting Order Management Systems (OMS), Billing Systems, or Business Support Systems (BSS).
- Strong experience in solution design, operational support, and production incident management.
- Proficiency with Couchbase (N1QL, data modeling), SQL, and database troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps and infrastructure tools including Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in large-scale, high-traffic production environments.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Strong project management capabilities with experience leading technical initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills under time-sensitive conditions.
- Strong ownership mindset with a customer-focused approach to incident resolution.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and commitment to operational best practices.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Basic level.
- English: Fluent.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Experience supporting large-scale e-commerce, fintech, or telecommunications platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems operations.
- Experience leading operational transformation, monitoring, or automation projects.
