Automotive Software Project Lead Yokohama Embedded C

Join a global automotive technology leader as a Software Engineer Project Lead, driving embedded software development for major Japanese OEM projects.

This position focuses on instrument cluster (meter) software development for next-generation vehicles, giving you the opportunity to lead cutting-edge automotive software projects from concept to mass production. You will collaborate closely with domestic OEMs, global engineering teams, and external partners in an international development environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software development projects using C language
• Serve as the primary technical interface for Japanese OEM customers
• Manage project QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) targets and timelines
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle including design, code review, testing, and troubleshooting
• Coordinate with global teams and external vendors to ensure smooth project delivery
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to software quality and testing efficiency

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Experience in embedded software development using C language
• Experience in software project leadership or software management
• Automotive industry experience or strong interest in automotive technologies
• Familiarity with Git, CAN tools, or measurement equipment

Soft Skills:

• Strong self-motivation and passion for learning new automotive technologies
• Excellent intercultural communication skills for working with global teams
• Strong ownership mindset and reliability in managing projects through mass production
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business stakeholders

Language Requirements:

• English: Fluent
• Japanese: Fluent

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and workflows
• Knowledge of software test automation and test efficiency improvements
• Experience in automotive software development environments
