Join a leading global automotive technology supplier in Yokohama as an Automotive Account Manager, managing commercial activities and key relationships with major Japanese automotive OEM customers.
In this role, you will take ownership of customer accounts across the full commercial lifecycle, from RFQ, quotation and pricing negotiations through program launch and serial production. You will also identify new business opportunities and support account development while building long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders.
Working closely with engineering, finance, operations, product and commercial teams in Japan and internationally, you will play an important role in growing customer accounts and supporting advanced automotive safety solutions in the Japanese market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial activities for assigned Japanese automotive OEM customers, from RFQ and quotation through program launch and serial production.
- Support new business acquisition and account development activities to expand existing and future customer opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders.
- Coordinate RFQs, quotations and commercial proposals with engineering, finance, operations, product and other internal teams.
- Support customer negotiations covering pricing, delivery conditions, commercial terms, program changes and other account-related topics.
- Drive customer and internal action items to ensure effective follow-up and timely resolution of commercial matters.
- Monitor account performance, profitability, prototype activities and overall project progress.
- Collaborate with local and international teams to ensure customer requirements and commercial priorities are effectively communicated and managed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of sales, commercial or account management experience within a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
- Experience managing RFQs, customer quotations, pricing discussions and commercial negotiations.
- Proven experience coordinating with cross-functional teams on automotive customer accounts or programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another relevant field.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills for working effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent coordination, ownership and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and commercial activities simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across local and international teams.
- Proactive approach to customer account management and resolving commercial issues.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native
- English: Intermediate / Business level
- Ability to communicate effectively with Japanese customers and international internal teams in a bilingual business environment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working directly with Japanese automotive OEM customers.
- Knowledge or experience in automotive safety systems or other automotive components.
- Experience working within a global and multicultural automotive organisation.
