My client, a leading Financial Services company based in Waterford, is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain hands-on experience in a busy and supportive finance environment.
Reporting to the Finance Team, the Accounts Assistant will support day-to-day finance operations. The role will provide exposure to a broad range of accounting activities and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with procure-to-pay activities, including supplier invoice processing.
- Support employee expense processing.
- Assist with bank reconciliations.
- Support VAT and RTD return preparation.
- Assist with maintenance of the fixed asset register.
- Support sales invoice preparation and reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end journal preparation and posting.
- Provide support during audit processes.
- Carry out ad hoc finance duties as required.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline (or currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification)
- 1-2 years' experience in an accounts or finance role (graduate-level candidates will also be considered)
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop within a finance function
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
