Morgan McKinley are partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation to recruit a Financial Controller to be based in their Waterford site. The financial controller will be responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, and providing accurate insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide the finance team, oversee compliance, and contribute to operational excellence during a period of growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high performance.
- Collaborate with site leadership to ensure operational priorities align with strategic objectives.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to support business success.
- Manage the month-end close process, delivering timely and accurate financial statements.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic and operational planning.
- Oversee cash flow to ensure business obligations are met.
- Produce detailed product and project margin reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Act as the key point of contact for external audits, ensuring smooth and timely completion.
- Monitor and report financial performance against budgets and KPIs (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives to meet financial targets.
- Support system upgrades and process improvement projects to drive efficiency.
- Play an active role in shaping financial strategy and supporting organisational growth.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in industry.
- Strong background in financial management, including P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (multi-site experience desirable).
- Proven track record of driving improvements in financial and operational performance.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical ability, with both strategic and detail-oriented focus.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence across all organisational levels.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- IT literate with ERP system experience (SAP or similar preferred).
