Morgan McKinley is partnering with a highly respected, well-established law firm in Waterford. They are now seeking an experienced and meticulous Bookkeeper to join their practice.
This is a Part-Time position, however, our client is highly open to a Full-Time basis by expanding the role to incorporate legal secretarial, typing, or administrative duties.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Executing bank transfers and reconciling accounts, serving as the core financial engine.
- Managing daily hard/soft copy financial records and entering receipts/payments into the database.
- Monitoring bank activity for incoming client/office funds and advising solicitors.
- Lodging cheques/cash quickly and checking files/accounts presented by the team.
- Conducting monthly and yearly bank reconciliations to ensure strict compliance.
- Preparing and filing bi-monthly VAT and monthly PAYE returns via ROS.
- Processing the firm's internal weekly payroll efficiently.
- For Full-Time Candidates: Providing administrative, reception, or legal typing support.
Job Requirements
- Strong bookkeeping experience; a legal sector background is preferred but not essential.
- Candidates from high-compliance fields (property, auctioneering, accountancy) are welcome.
- Demonstrated experience handling VAT, PAYE returns, weekly payroll, and ROS.
- Familiarity with legal accounts software (Harvest, Leap, Keyhouse, Keystone) is an advantage.
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfortable managing both paper and digital workflows.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly within a small team.
