Key Responsibilities

• Manage Yen Rates Sales activities with a focus on Japanese Government Bonds (JGBs) and interest rate swaps.
• Provide institutional sales coverage for Japanese central financial institutions, maintaining strong and effective client relationships.
• Identify and respond to client requirements relating to yen-denominated fixed income and interest rate products.
• Communicate relevant JGB market developments, interest rate movements and yen rates product information to institutional clients.
• Support client discussions concerning Japanese Government Bonds, interest rate swaps and related rates market opportunities.
• Work closely with relevant Global Markets colleagues and internal trading teams to coordinate client requests and sales activities.
• Maintain regular communication with institutional clients to understand their evolving rates product requirements and market interests.
• Apply knowledge of the Japanese fixed income market and yen interest rate products to support effective client coverage.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of institutional relationships and Yen Rates Sales activities within the Tokyo business.
• Conduct sales activities in accordance with the bank's applicable internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Yen Rates Sales at an investment bank based in Japan.
• Practical experience selling or covering Japanese yen-denominated interest rate products in an institutional investment banking environment.
• Knowledge of Japanese Government Bonds (JGBs) and interest rate swaps, with the ability to discuss these products professionally with clients.
• Understanding of the Japanese fixed income and interest rate markets.
• Experience working in a Global Markets or Fixed Income Sales front-office environment.
• Ability to support institutional client relationships and respond effectively to yen rates product enquiries and requirements.

Soft Skills:

• Strong client relationship management and communication skills for working with Japanese institutional financial clients.
• Professional and commercially focused approach to institutional sales and client coverage.
