This is an AVP-level opportunity within securities operations at a leading international financial services institution with a strong presence in Japan. The role focuses on operational controls, regulatory reporting, and risk mitigation across custody, cash, and reconciliation functions. You will work closely with global and local stakeholders, playing a critical role in ensuring operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency within a dynamic investment banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform custody position, margin, and cash reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Maintain static data, settlement instructions, and account details to support smooth securities and cash operations
- Manage cash segregation and balance substantiation in line with regulatory and internal control requirements
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, audit confirmations, and management information accurately and within deadlines
- Monitor key risk indicators, escalate issues appropriately, and contribute to strengthening operational risk controls
- Collaborate with front office, operations, risk, and compliance teams to improve processes and support regulatory inspections
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience within investment banking, securities services, or financial markets operations
- Hands-on experience in securities operations, custody, reconciliation, or cash management
- Strong understanding of operational controls, regulatory reporting, and risk management
Soft Skills:
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership of operational responsibilities
- High attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Business level
- English: Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections or audits within financial services
- Exposure to multi-asset trade support and process improvement initiatives
